Soil–Water Dynamics Investigation at Agricultural Hillslope with High-Precision Weighing Lysimeters and Soil–Water Collection Systems

A quantitative understanding of actual evapotranspiration (ETa) and soil–water dynamics in a hillslope agroecosystem is vital for sustainable water resource management soil conservation; however, the complexity processes conditions involving lateral subsurface flow (LSF) can be limiting factor full comprehension dynamics. The research was carried out at SUPREHILL CZO located on (vineyard) over period two years (2021–2022) by combining characterization field hydrological measurements, including weighing lysimeters, sensor LSF collection system measurements. Lysimeters were placed hilltop footslope, both having dynamic controlled bottom boundary, which corresponded to pressure head mimic Water balance components between positions slope compared with goal identifying differences that might reveal hydrologically driven due paths across hillslope. usually considered limitations these or borders preventing through domain, acted as an aid within this installation setup, lack compensated pumping footslope. findings from lysimeters Weighing lysimeter data indicated ETa rates. results suggest onset contributes spatial crop productivity distribution hillslopes. present approach may useful investigating impact similar sites crops other surface covers.
